Hardway Councillor Roger Allen has spoken out in a recent Gosport Globe article regarding the anti-social behaviour experienced at Hardway. You can read the article here on page 6.

Following an escalation in ASB last week a temporary Section 35 dispersal order was put in place for the area.

The order, under Section 35 of the Antisocial Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, provided Hampshire Police with temporary additional powers to require people to leave a designated area within Hardway if they are suspected of being involved in, or likely to become involved in, incidents of antisocial behaviour.

At long last this action has seen no ASB reported in the area in the days following the order. However this is only a temporary solution.

It's good to see Councillor Allen speaking publicly about the problems, however, we need action not words. We await details of the action proposed by Hampshire Police and Gosport Borough Council to address the summer ASB nuisance in the longer term.
