At a meeting of the Community Board at Gosport Town Hall on 24th January the case for implementing a PSPO for Hardway Public spaces was officially heard by Councillors. There was agreement at this meeting to progress to the next stage, which is a consultation period of six weeks where the public will be asked to give their views.
The Hardway community have already expressed it's views both by survey and public meetings.
All being well, we hope to see the Public Spaces Protection Order in place in April. The importance of getting an effective action plan in place before the seasonal issues start all over again is now recognised by those in authority and we can only hope that this Order may allow our Community in its entirety to enjoy Hardway foreshore and Memorial Green this summer.
The message from Hardway community is:-
Come and enjoy our wonderful area..................
but if you participate in anti-social behaviour and make the Memorial Green and Foreshore a no-go area for the rest of the community, or harass and intimidate residents you are not welcome and this summer you will need to find somewhere else to gather.
