Thank you everyone who has supported the campaign for the PSPO which was a last resort for our community to seek effective action to prevent the summer misery of ASB at Hardway foreshore and surrounding areas.
Following the Council meeting on 7th March we have been informed of the following:
Gosport Borough Council Community Board is satisfied from the petition and community impact survey that there has been persistent and unreasonable ASB at Hardway Green which has a had detrimental effect on the quality of life of those in the locality.
The Community Board is satisfied upon reasonable grounds that, notwithstanding
the intervention measures and existing enforcement regime that the implementation
of the PSPO is justified in order to effectively tackle the ASB.
The council shall adopt the Draft PSPO, which will take effect on 13th April 2018.
This result is directly due to our community working together to make Hardway a place for everyone to enjoy again. We particularly need to thank Councillor Roger Allen and Councillor Diane Furlong who attended every community meeting we held and who have been a driving force in seeking a resolution on Hardway Community's behalf for the seasonal ASB.
What next?
We plan to contact Hampshire Police and seek a community meeting with senior Officers regarding their plans for community policing of Hardway in summer 2018.
We plan to contact local schools to arrange meetings between them and representatives of HardwayRAG to explain the problems experienced here at Hardway first hand, why the PSPO was needed and to work with them prior to school holidays.
We will continue to keep you informed and up to date with progress.
You can also keep up to date with other issues in Hardway via Councillor Allen's newsletter which can be subscribed to by sending an email to: hardwayward@mail.com with the title 'newsletter' and you will be added to the distribution list
